John 3:16 – The Greatest Gift

For God so loved this world below,
More than our minds could ever know.
He gave His Son upon the tree,
To die for sinners just like me.

No greater love was ever shown,
Than Christ who left His heavenly throne.
He bore our guilt, our shame, our pain,
That we through Him eternal life may gain.

The nails could never hold His grace,
Nor death erase His loving face.
The empty tomb now stands to prove,
The endless power of redeeming love.

Whoever comes with faith sincere,
Will find the Saviour waiting near.
No soul too lost, no heart too far,
For mercy shines like Heaven’s star.

So turn today while yet you may,
Do not refuse His loving way.
Receive the Gift God freely gives,
For all who trust in Jesus live.
